If Walker's USFL and NFL numbers are combined, he ranks as one of the most productive professional runners in history. There is a reluctance to do this because of the disagreement whether the level of play in the USFL is comparable to the NFL. In 12 seasons, Walker gained 8,225 rushing yards, 4,859 receiving yards and 5,084 kick off-return yards. This gave him 18,168 total combined net yards, ranking him high among the NFL's all-time leaders in that category at the tme of his retirement.
