Plaxico Burress, New York Giants' talented wide receiver is an expert at being able to irritate other football players. He irritated his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers so much they had little interest in resigning him. His current teammates have accused him of "quitting" on them and he has told coach Tom Coughlin to lighten up. Burress has routinely thrown fits when his quarterback didn't get him the football. He has been described as aloof, injury prone and a malcontent.
Last Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers He showed why he's worth the headache. When he's on, he's on and can really irritate his opponents. One big reason the New York Giants are heading towards Super Bowl XLII is Burress' domination of the Packers' Pro Bowl corner back, Al Harris. Burress had a career-best 11 catches for 154 yards as the two stars taunted each other the entire evening.
Tom Coughlin said he inspired his teammates, not to mention making the Packers' crazy. He made it a routine to visit the Packers' sideline after a catch and inform them that Harris couldn't cover him.
Plaxico Burress was right. Onward to Glendale Arizona and Super Bowl XLII!
