Michael Vick, jailed NFL Atlanta Falcons quarterback has a scheduled April 2 trial on 2 state felony dogfighting charges. Beating or killing or causing dogs to fight other dogs and engaging in or promoting gogfighting is also punishable by up to 5 years for each of the 2 state charges.

Sadly Washington Redskins Safety Passes Away After a Gunshot Wound |

Unfortunately Washington Redskins Safety, Sean Taylor died early Tuesday morning following surgery for a gunshot wound which hit his femoral artery in his leg. He lost extensive amounts of blood and underwent 7 hours of surgery. The assailant was a yet unknown intruder into former Washington Redskins safety Taylor's home near Palmetto Beach Florida.

Washington Redskins Sean Taylor Shot in Leg |

Washington Redskins star safety, Sean Taylor was shot at his home in Miami Monday and was in critical condition. Police were summoned to Taylor's home at about 1:45 am. according to the NFL football player's father. He had been shot in his leg and was bleeding heavily from hie femoral artery which had been severed. Police are still investigating the cause of the shooting. Lt. Nancy Perez said, "It could have been a possible robbery. It has not been confirmed yet." The 24 year old football player is in his 4th season with the Washington Redslkins after playing at the University of Miami, where he was an All-American in 2003. Taylor played in his 1st Pro Bowl last season and is known as 1 of the NFL's hardest hitters. He has been in trouble numerous times since he was drafted as the #5 overall pick in 2004. He has been fined 7 times for late hits and other infractions including a $17,000 peanlty for spitting in Tampa Bay Michael Pittman's face January 2006 and $25,000 for skipping a mandatory rookie symposium shortly after his draft. |
